Each year over 1,500 local officials benefit from NYCOM training events. Taking part in the varied educational and networking opportunities, local officials are assisted with the many challenges they face in local government.
Annual Meeting & Training School
May 5-7, 2019 • Otesaga Hotel, Cooperstown
This meeting provides an opportunity for Mayors, Managers, Trustees, Council Members, Attorneys, Finance Officers and Clerks to network with peers from other communities and attend a variety of sessions covering both the essential information and skills that every local official needs, as well as some of the more timely and innovative topics. This meeting also features the election of NYCOM’s officers for the upcoming year.

Fall Training School for City & Village Officials
September 16-20, 2019, Hilton Hotel, Saratoga Springs
NYCOM and the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) collaborate each year to create an exciting program designed not only for Clerks and Finance Officers, but also Managers, Administrators, Attorneys, and Elected Officials -- with more than 60 separate sessions on various aspects of municipal law, government operations, local finance and professional development. The Fall Training School also hosts the annual business meetings for the NYS Association of City and Village Clerks and the NYS Society of Municipal Finance Officers.
Public Works Training School
October 21-23, 2019, Hotel Ithaca
This training school gathers public works officials and municipal engineers from around the state to discuss cutting-edge technology; new and emerging state and federal regulations; road and highway issues; best practices; labor and management issues; emergency management; budgeting; and professional development.

Winter Legislative Meeting
February 9-11, 2020, Albany Marriott
As cities and villages prepare for the start of a new legislative session and a new leadership dynamic in Albany, we hope you will join us at NYCOM's Winter Legislative Meeting. This event provides a unique opportunity for our members to share ideas and convey a unified message about the need for funding, tools and a true partnership with the State. The Meeting includes development of substantive policy issues and positions via our four policy committees on Sunday, keynote speakers and educational workshops on Monday, and concludes with our lobby day on Tuesday.
