Winter Legislative Meeting

NYCOM's Winter Legislative Meeting is that one occasion each year when approximately 200 members consisting of Mayors, Managers, Administrators, Attorneys, and Trustees gather in Albany for the single purpose of advancing NYCOM's Legislative Agenda.

The Governor, Senate Majority Leader, Speaker of the Assembly, State Comptroller, Attorney General and other key state leaders are invited every year to address attendees. This is an opportunity for NYCOM members as a collective voice to campaign for legislation that benefits municipalities statewide.

Concluding the Winter Legislative Meeting is the Legislative Reception. Local officials and members of the Legislature converse on legislation to assist city and village governments.

Following the meeting each year a delegation of NYCOM members visit Senate and Assembly Committees to discuss municipal priorities.  This delegation advances NYCOM’s Legislative Agenda and advocates for legislation that enhances the ability of local leaders to better serve their communities.
