Public Works School

NYCOM's annual Public Works Training School gathers approximately 125 public works officials and municipal engineers from around the state.  A planning committee comprised of public works directors and NYCOM staff determines the annual agenda.  Sessions focus on cutting-edge technology; new and emerging state and federal regulations; road and highway issues; legal liabilities and responsibilities; best practices; labor and management issues; emergency management; budgeting; and professional development. Early-riser round table discussions provide attendees with a chance to share common concerns and solutions.  A field trip to an attraction or project of local significance is offered on the last afternoon of the meeting.

Concluding the training school is the Annual Banquet where attendees are recognized for their consistent attendance.
