COMPTROLLER - Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the accounting and auditing activities of the City's Finance Department, and the preparation of the annual budget. The incumbent is responsible for insuring that the record keeping activities are carried out in accordance with NYS laws and regulations. The Comptroller is the chief auditing and accounting officer of the City and oversees the fiscal operations of city departments and agencies. The Comptroller is appointed by, and works under the direction of the City Manager. Direct supervision is exercised over subordinate staff.
Exempt Position. Salary $69,241 - $83,936

Corporation Counsel - City of Peekskill, NY
The City of Peekskill seeks a qualified candidate for its Corporation Counsel position. The position serves as part of the City's Management Team and reports to the City Manager. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of municipal law experience and must be an attorney in good standing in the State of New York, admitted to practice in New York State Courts and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. The position manages and oversees the municipal law office, including preparing local laws; prosecuting/defending in-house litigation; negotiating and preparing development contracts; negotiating union contracts; preparing bid specifications for public works projects; prosecuting In Rem Tax Foreclosure proceedings; defending real property tax review proceedings (tax certioraris); performing all duties as prosecutor on behalf of the City of Peekskill; liaising with all outside and special counsel; managing all operations of the Office of the Corporation Counsel; and providing legal opinions, counsel and support to the Mayor and City Council and all City departments.
